Summary
As part of our Business Development team, the intern student will be assisting the management in developing our environmental and renewable energy initiatives. The successful candidate will be trained on existing technologies as well as industry best practices in procurement, supply chain, and project management. In addition, they will have the chance to obtain firsthand experience in areas such as business analysis, technical and business documentation, sourcing, logistics, and so on.
Qualifications
Currently enrolled in a general business, business analysis, management, business economics or related co-op or equivalent post-secondary. The position requires business acumen as well as exposure to renewable energy and waste management industries. It also needs understanding of the company’s competition positioning, its value proposition to the custom and its market reach strategies. Expertise such as business analysis, project coordination, project management, sourcing, market research, etc. are considered a plus.
Responsibilities
- Gather information, research existing technologies and available solutions in renewable energy and waste management industry with a focus on Canadian market;
- Determine operational objectives by studying business functions, gathering information, evaluating output requirements and formats;
- Collect data and conduct a study on regulations, industry standards, best practices, etc;
- Contribute to proposal drafting, report preparation, data processing and technical writing;
- Participate in proposal preparation (business analysis, work scope, task-level budgeting, cost estimates), perform calculations, gather or review information, or prepare standard sections of proposals;
- Assist with other service line projects when needed;
- Available to travel within and potentially outside Alberta

- Demonstrated ability to apply strategic and critical thinking to business analysis;
- Knowledge of research, methods, and techniques;
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills;
- Strong work ethic and ability to multi-task, prioritize, and take direction;
- Basic understanding of waste management concepts and environmental legislation;
- Valid Alberta Driver’s License and clean driver’s abstract
